The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. The technique uses a timer to break work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks.
The technique was named after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer (pomodoro is Italian for tomato) that Cirillo used as a university student. He initially experimented with different work intervals before settling on 25 minutes as the optimal time for focused work.
Tip: The exact timing can be adjusted to your personal rhythm. Some people work better with 50-minute focus sessions and 10-minute breaks.
